Notes on Bowling Ethnography

After reading Professor Williams' ethnography on the Hanover Bowladrome I learned a few things about bowling but I also found ways to improve my project.  I took notes for myself to look at while I write my final project.  I wrote down ideas that I could use in my project.  They were mostly about the analysis and where she put it in to her essay.  Also the way she split up her different sections.  I think this gave me and idea of what I have to do in my project as well as learn a few things about bowling.

  1. I also found it helpful that professor Williams gives us her examples for the essays we are writing. I take many things from her writing and apply in into mine. I liked how you could tell she worked hard on constructing her final paper, she did not copy and paste all three essays with transition paragraphs and a tacked on conclusion. I honestly find reading Professor Williams essay the most helpful tool in beginning to write me own essay.

  2. I agree with Brian and Chantelle, gettintg to read an example of an ethnography and what the professor is looking for helps me when I write my final paper. I can reference back to it to see the steps she went through and the layout she chose. I can also see what useful information she used verses what she chose to cut out and how she transformed it into a story about a culture.
